I was born in the 1980s, and grew up under the leadership of Communist Party of China. The reform and opening up policy brought tremendous changes, which led me to believe in the Communist Party in those days. When I was in primary school, I wore red scarf just like other young pioneers. We sang for the motherland, we believed in the Party and praised the Party. As time goes by, I realized what is true democracy, and what is the mask.
People say that if upper level is not correctly set, the lower level could be worse; you can only harvest what you planted. In today's China, the autocracy of local officials caused many people lost their homes. When officers says demolish, the people have to follow with no objection. The people's problems are never considered, not even with any basic respect. All levels of officials deprive the people. All level of government are busy making more profit in various names. At the same time, many things were suppressed before in the society, said to because of the lower level of education in average people and lack of knowledge. Now, we were supposed to see democracy in our society, but what we saw is violence. The government officials pretend not seeing these. When problem becomes serious, just visit and offer some compensation. The officials' corruption and indifference to people's lives made us feel hopeless. Is this the democracy we want? Can we still believe in Communist Party?
We call for democracy in China, the earlier the better.
